Chaya Green learned TM in 1970. She became a TM teacher in 1972 in Majorca, Spain, and Fiuggi Fonte, Italy. When she returned from her training, she taught TM in Tucson, Arizona for two years, and then moved to Fairfield, Iowa with her husband, who taught physics at Maharishi International University. During the 15 years spent in Fairfield, Chaya gave birth to four children, including triplets. They are in their thirties now. Chaya moved from Los Angeles to Winnipeg in 1992 with her husband, Rabbi Alan Green. Their life revolves around the Jewish Sabbath and holidays, which give meaning and rhythm to the changing days and seasons and reminds them of their history, their relationship to God, and to other people. Entertaining in the Green household is mostly in relation to Shabbat (the Sabbath) and holidays, with festive meals and special rituals to mark each one. Singing around the table is a fun part of their celebrations. Chaya enjoys adult Jewish learning and takes classes in order to deepen her understanding of the tradition.
She has been teaching TM full time since 2008. Her teaching schedule revolves around Jewish life also, because Jewish holidays prohibit many kinds of activities, including work.
Chaya and Alan travel often to Israel. In their leisure time, they enjoy concerts and movies, being with friends, and visiting their children and one grandson in various locales in the U.S.A. and Canada.

Helle Pettersen, Nurse and Mother:
"Those 20 minutes of silence were the quietest I had known for a long, long time. I felt I got in touch with my self, that inner peace, that person I am," Helle says. "That was great. Now, as a parent, I am much more focused, calm, with better resources to give more, and can be more present for my daughter – calm, not stressed." - Helle Pettersen As quoted in "Flying Start Parenting" magazine"
