Local Teacher - Peter Cameron
Peter Cameron began practicing the TM technique in 1970 while attending the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He attended the first International Symposium on the Science of Creative Intelligence the following summer at the University of Massachusetts in Amherst, Mass. where he first met Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, the founder of the TM program. Maharishi extended an invitation to the symposium participants to travel to Europe to complete their training as Teacher's of the TM technique. Peter went early in 1972. While completing his music studies at Acadia University in Wolfville, his hometown, Peter helped organize the Students International Meditation Society on university campuses throughout the Maritimes.
After graduating with his B.A. in Music Education in 1975, Peter traveled extensively by car throughout the Maritimes teaching TM: earning him the nickname "asphalt yogi" from one of his colleagues. The name stuck and so did the traveling TM teaching. Now, after 41 years, Peter has conducted TM courses, worked in administration and generally represented and promoted the TM program while traveling across Canada from Prince Rupert, BC to St John's Newfoundland and Internationally in India, Europe and the USA. So if there is a Canadian community where there are people eager to learn TM and there is no local teacher, better give him a call or text him at 902 225 1383.

Helle Pettersen, Nurse and Mother:
"Those 20 minutes of silence were the quietest I had known for a long, long time. I felt I got in touch with my self, that inner peace, that person I am," Helle says. "That was great. Now, as a parent, I am much more focused, calm, with better resources to give more, and can be more present for my daughter – calm, not stressed." - Helle Pettersen As quoted in "Flying Start Parenting" magazine"
